Amrita Pritam pours her heart out in this story spanning from pre partition era to the times after the partition. The translation into English is very pinjzr and unaffected. Pritam set out to construct a narrative of Partition from the women’s point of view.

A great piece of art must read for punjabi readers and other also plnjar to understand the past happen to our old generation as from what time they come around Jan 02, Rishi Katiyar rated it pibjar liked it. He grows up in the temple along with three other priests a Head Guru and pinajr two servant rishis. As Muslims and Hindus flee from opposing sides for safety, Lajjo gets separated from the rest of the family to get kidnapped some time later by one Muslim boy.
All she wants to tell is that Love is the Ultimate Victor who wins over irrespective of the differences created by the mundane realities, such as Caste, Religion, and National Boundaries.
The second story is much more complex and conflicted, but I didn’t think as highly of it. If you have to pick one human emotion and dissect it to mean a million things, read this woman.
